I went to New York City for a long weekend last week. And my wife and I covered a ton of territory in the city. Here is a partial list of what I came into
contact with that could have sent me home with a nasty cold, flu or other illness:
- Endless subway handrails and seats
- A concert hall at Lincoln Center that looks impressive from afar, but whose seats are pretty disgusting
- Myriad public restrooms
- A hotel that had a lot of “rustic” charm
- Restaurants with a lot of people in them
- Airports, of course, with who knows how many areas ripe for “microbe transmission.”
- And, of course, aircraft with screaming sick kids, coughing passengers and mouth-breathing sleepers
- Temp changes from 80s to 50s in one day
Luckily, my immune system was fortified. Has been for years. EpiCor. Works.
