Still lovin’ life during allergy season.

Well, I’ve continued to endure the fall allergy season with nary a symptom. Dont’ get me wrong, I’ll still have a sneeze from time to time. But morning and evening breathing is all clear, itching is next to non-existent, and I have yet to take an over-the-counter allergy pill (Claritin, Zyrtec) since early August

I got to wondering:  Are ragweed pollen counts in my neck of the woods down sharply this year for some reason?  Is that a reason why I’ve not been miserable?

I looked up the September pollen almanac on the Weather Channel for my area. The chart shows that so far this month (September 08), there have been 11 days categorized as “High” pollen, 6 tagged as “Moderate” and 1 with “No Report.” Weekend days do not appear to be recorded.

August ‘08 numbers were as follows:  6 Low days; 2 Moderate days; 13 High days.  Ragweed season onset is pegged for early August, peak is early September, and the ending period is mid October. So I’m not out of the woods yet.

The only difference in my daily lifestyle routine this season vs prior years is my daily immune balance supplement intake.  Am I missing something?

I have sufferred from allergies for 40 years! This year, I took one Epicor every day. I did not have one single allergy sympton all year. I was amazed! I am able to enjoy the football season more than ever! Thank you Epicor!

That’s great to hear. I’ve had a similar experience as well. It’s worth noting that, as with any supplementation, or even medicinal product for that matter, people are different and not all people respond the same. My family members take the same supplement I do, and while I’ve been symptom-free during allergy season and the now-in-force cold/flu/crud season, they’ve still had make a couple doctor visits and take take a couple sick days from school. However, the antibiotics didn’t really do much. And it’s also worth noting successful immune balance can also mean that people who do come down with something may not experience as severe or as long-lasting of condition as they might have with an out-of-sync immune defense. My wife’s allergies have been present this year, but not overwhelming. And a doctor’s visit by one of my kids ended up with no prescription, just a directive to gargle with salt water, drink lots of water and get enough sleep. And she was back to school that morning. I’ll take that over 3 or 4 days in bed any time.
